Assistant Editor

A. Position Title: Assistant Editor (remote work, PDT Time Zone)

B. Classification: Freelance and/or Temp Employees

C. Description of the job: Assisting lead editor in overcutting graphics/gameplay, mixes, finishing, versioning, localizing, exporting gameplay edits out of Premiere Pro.

D. Responsibilities of the Position: To independently ensure all quality standards are met and that localized edits are exported frame accurately and match the master cut.

E. Specific responsibilities:

a) Swap in updated and localized motion graphics while keeping frame-accuracy and intent of original edit.
b) Comfortable with keyframes and animation & copying-pasting attributes.
c) Thoroughly conform all edits, checking consistency in timecode/duration/cut points across all versions of the edit.
d) Organized files, following naming conventions, and clean project management is required.
e) Updating sound, exporting. OMFs, cutting in mixes.
f) Export final cuts for delivery to client.
g) Meeting and enforcing QC standards.
h) Consult with stakeholders from production to the post-production process.

F. Requirements needed for the job:

a) +3 years of professional work experience as an assistant or junior video editor.
b) +3 years experience with Premiere Pro & Media Encoder.
c) Demonstrable AE and/or video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
d) Thorough knowledge of timing, precision, and a detailed eye.
e) Familiarity with special effects (AE skills a bonus) and in-edit compositing.
f) Detail oriented.

G. Education: College education or trade school equivalent experience required.
