Xavier University, a member of the BIG EAST Conference, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Creative Media Graduate Assistant, which will serve an integral role in the creation of digital content for the department reporting directly to the Athletic Video Coordinator. This position will lead creative video efforts for Women’s Basketball, Men’s/Women’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse. The position will be required to work in the office as well as at numerous athletic events.

Responsibilities include:
• Work collaboratively with the Athletic Video Coordinator, Communications, and Marketing staff on video needs for respective sports
• Shoot and edit both short- and long-form content to support various areas of the athletic department such as assigned sports teams, marketing and development
• Attend various sporting and athletic events to shoot video for production of content for public consumption
• Work directly with coaching staff to capture unique requests during the events
• Conceive, script, direct and produce video shoots and interviews
• Conceive script, score and produce original highlight, motivational and banquet videos for assigned sports
• Manage highlights video database to fulfill requests for video footage for network, news organizations and departmental requests
• Maintain and organize digital media as well as the equipment used within the video department
• Be aware of proper procedures of use and storage of equipment
• Assist in researching new technologies and equipment

Start Date: No earlier than August 1, 2022.
Employment Term: This is a 10-month position for 1 year with the mutual option for a possible 2nd year.
Compensation: Graduate tuition (up to 9 credit hours/semester) and monthly stipend.

Experience / Skills

Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree in film, digital media, sports management or a related field
• 1+ year of experience in a collegiate athletics department
• Professional, results-oriented self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient in Adobe Creative suite
