Fiilex Showcases Their P3 Color & Q10 Color LED Fresnel at Cine Gear 2022

An interview from the 2022 Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles with Brent Siebenaler of Fiilex. Fiilex is leading the way in the transition of LED Fresnels in the motion picture industry. In 2014, using our patented Dense Matrix LED technology, Fiilex released an award winning 180W CCT tunable LED fresnel that comes with an advanced color science, allowing our high output light to maintain very high CRI and TLCI in the full CCT tuning range.

In 2019, Fiilex completed a major update to its product line and released its first Q-Series “COLOR” fresnel, which includes RGB colors. Since then, Fiilex expanded the “COLOR” capability to the full product line: from Q5, Q8, Q10 to P3 and Matrix. All Fiilex COLOR products now share the same color index profile and work seamlessly together as a group. Over the years, Fiilex has been recognized as a leader manufacturing the best LED light source for the television and film industry.

The P3 COLOR is a portable 90W LED fixture that packs a ton of features into its compact two pound frame. The P3´s white light output ranges from 2000 - 10000K with excellent CRI, and its various color control modes allow users to access the full range of vibrant RGB illumination. At the core of the P3 is Fiilex´s patented Dense Matrix LED, which is an extremely small light source capable of producing crisp shadows and clean barndoor cuts. Accessory attachments can diffuse or focus the P3´s output. No other portable LED fixture can match the P3´s combination of power, size, and versatility.

The Q10 Color is a 900W fresnel with full color output and a 12-60 degree spot/flood range. Compared to our other lights you could say it's like 10x P3 or 5x Q5 output. And features-wise, it's very similar to their Q5 and Q8, just bigger and beefier.

This fixture uses the latest iteration of Fiilex’s Dense Matrix LED technology to deliver color fidelity and optical versatility that are superior to previous generations of LED fresnels. With an extremely wide spot/flood range, smooth dimming to 0%, no flicker, and high CRI, the Q10 Color combines the extensive feature set of top-tier RGBW LEDs with the performance of a tungsten fresnel.

Light quality is a major aspect of all our lights. Q10 has an even light field at all beam angles with no obvious hotspots. No color shifting or splitting along the edge of a beam or barndoor cut. Colors are extensively calibrated to stay accurate at all light settings.

Control-wise it has dozens of CCT and color control modes available in both 8 and 16 bit resolutions. Built-in LumenRadio enables wireless DMX.

The QUAD Color is a super-bright punch light that emits 1360W of LED illumination. Powerful yet compact, the QUAD Color combines four Matrix fixtures in one ruggedized frame weighing a total of 75lbs (34kg) and standing less than one meter high. This streamlined fixture includes an integrated power supply, cabling, and controls (in addition to XLR5 DMX in/out) for easy rigging and settings adjustment. With this comprehensive design, the QUAD Color excels in any production setting, whether it’s set on a floor stand or suspended from a studio lighting grid.
