An interview from the 2022 Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles with Lawrence Sher, ASC of ShotDeck. ShotDeck is the largest collection of fully searchable high-definition movie images in the world.
Lawrence Sher is the founder and CEO of the searchable image database Shotdeck.com. Mr. Sher is an Oscar nominated Cinematographer and Director, lensing over 35 feature films, numerous television pilots and hundreds of commercials within his 30+ year career in the entertainment industry.
Known for his cinematography for the films The Hangover trilogy, Garden State, Due Date, and most notably Joker. His films have grossed over $4 billion worldwide in the box offices. For Joker, his cinematography was nominated for an Oscar, and BAFTA and won the prestigious Golden Frog at the Camerimage Film Festival in Poland. Sher recently finished shooting the DC Comic - Warner Bros film Black Adam that will be released this October 2022.
After years of prepping for films with reference material during research and inspiration phases of the production process, Lawrence started building Shotdeck over many years as a passion project and necessity. He wanted a site that would be infinitely searchable with images keywords in dozens of categories that expand into becoming the library of moving images.
